GIFTED & SCHOOL ADMISSION ASSESSMENTS
We utilize standardized measures in a comfortable setting. We offer gifted placement and school admission assessments for students preschool through grade school as early as age 2 years, 6 months. Dr. Perez easily establishes rapport with her clients allowing them to feel cared for and supported.
We offer assessments for academic accommodations, general learning differences, and attention issues. These evaluations are beneficial for students performing below their academic potential or having frequent behavioral issues that interfere with their learning. Psychoeducational assessments are individualized based on the student's areas of concern. Academic accommodations will require coordination with your child's school. Examples of possible accommodations can include extra time on standardized tests, having directions read aloud, simplified assignments, or use a calculator. 1508 accommodation requirements can be found in the Bulletin 1508.
ADHD assessments are also offered for adults. These evaluations can be useful in identifying attention deficits that may not have been detected or addressed during grade school. ADHD symptoms can affect your ability to organize, complete daily tasks, and remain focused at work. Our assessments will identify your strengths and weaknesses with recommendations to suit your needs.
As opposed to the traditional paper/ pencil administration, we use digital technology to assess cognitive ability, academic achievement, attention level, and emotional status. Utilizing iPads and laptops for test administration significantly increases accuracy of results and decreases wait time for feedback. Children and adolescents prefer this form of interactive assessment with technology they typically use daily. Parents and teachers appreciate the convenience of completing report measures in the comfort of their own homes and classrooms.
We offer talk therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. Therapy can lead to increased satisfaction in interpersonal relationships, greater personal awareness and insight, and increased skills for improving daily functioning. Many people find it beneficial to have someone to talk to when they are adjusting to a new situation or feeling stressed. Parents seek our assistance with addressing behavioral issues at home. We offer support in a nonjudgmental manner.
We offer non-narcotic medication management for children, adolescents, and adults with issues related to anxiety, depression, and ADHD. Adults meeting criteria for ADHD by our assessments will be considered for medication trials. Medication management for adults diagnosed with ADHD elsewhere may be considered for a medication trial with proper documentation of previous diagnosis from an acceptable medical source and confirmation of prior medication trials.
Your time is important to us. So is your convenience. To allow you more flexibility, we offer telehealth services. This allows you to receive behavioral health services from the comfort of your home, school, or office. We offer the same professional services without causing disruption to your day.
